Boots to launch new recycle scheme.

Nottingham Guardian

Nottingham based Boots have launched a new scheme to encourage customers to reuse the packaging of items purchased in store.

For every five pieces of packaging customers recycle in store, they will receive 500 points on their Boots Advantage Card point, the equivalent to £5.

Boots are the first UK retailer to use Scan2Recycle technology, which allows customers to track how much packaging they have recycled.

Joanna Rogers, Trading Director and VP of Beauty at Boots said: "To help our customers shop and consume more sustainably, we're excited to launch the most inclusive recycling scheme on the market.

Last year, Boots became the first national pharmacy, health and beauty retailer in the UK to move to brown paper bags across its 2,465 stores.

Boots have also signed up to UK Plastics Pact, a partnership for businesses across the UK to work collaboratively to transform the UK plastic packaging sector by 2025.
