Broxtowe Borough Council have been issued with over £50,000 of emergency funding from the Government in order to support voluntary groups in the area.
So far, Hope Nottingham have been given £10,000 to support with the increase demand for the food bank and food distribution to vulnerable people in the Beeston and Chilwell area.

Eastwood Age Concern will receive £10,000 to maintain a provision of hot meals to older people living in the local area, while Middle Street Resource Centre in Beeston will gain £10,000 to maintain telephone support with people with mental health issues in the community.
Chair of the Finance Committee, Councillor Greg Marshall said: “The Council is incredibly grateful of the support these and many other voluntary and resident led groups are providing in our community, now more than ever. These vital funds will help them reach even more people over the coming weeks and will provide a real lifeline for those who are vulnerable, have found themselves in financial difficulty or feeling lonely and isolated as we try to respond to the pandemic.”
