Nottingham City Council to relax street parking charges.

Nottingham Guardian

Nottingham City Council have announced today they are to be more flexible with street parking charges and restrictions in the city centre to support the response to the Coronavirus pandemic.

The changes come after public transport has been reduced due to a high number of people working from home.

However, for those key workers all charges will be suspended and enforcement relaxed to allow those who absolutely need to travel into the city.

Charges will still remain in the multi-storey and surface car parks.

Councillor Adele Williams, Portfolio Holder for Local Transport, said: “Relaxing parking restrictions in the city centre will allow those key workers who have adapted so fantastically to the ever changing pandemic situation to carry out their essential work with one less thing to worry about."

Nottingham City Council is leading the way when it comes to parking charges, making sure that those who need to go to work can do with one less worry.
